The Taiwan Taipei Prison (Chinese: 臺灣臺北監獄) is a prison located in Gueishan, Taoyuan County, Taiwan,[1] under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice (Republic of China). Established in 1963, it has a capacity of 2705, and houses heinous and repeat criminals from northern Taiwan who are sentenced to at least ten years in prison.
Former President Chen Shui-bian is currently serving a 19-year sentence at the Taipei Prison as Inmate 1020.[1]
